5 Words That Lead to God
For a long time, I thought God was an old man in the sky.
If I did good, good things would come.
If I did bad, bad things would come.
This judgemental God evoked fear, shame, and suppression.
The version I came to know later in life inspired love, pride, and authenticity.
The former lived in my mind. The latter lives in my heart.
God shouldn’t be enforced. It should be experienced.
Connecting with the Great Spirit, the Divine, Christ Consciousness, Love, Buddha, or any of the other deities it goes by, is a process that starts within.
There is no almighty God in the sky watching over our every move, ready to reward or punish us.
That is a myth.
The only journey we must make to meet God is the 18 inches it takes to go from the mind to the heart.

That’s where all the love and heartbreak resides. That’s where all the vulnerability and courage can be found. That’s where all the deepest connections can be made.
