Eve Arnold once said: “You can’t be an astronaut, a teacher and an actor all in one lifetime. You must choose.”

A few years ago, I decided to become healthy, happy, and productive but that meant I had to let go of things that were holding me back.

It wasn’t always easy but slowly I began to see results and that was all the encouragement I needed.

Below are seven of the things I got rid of to improve my life.

1. Dead time on technology

It sounds simple: find the things that suck your time and energy and delete them.

Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, Netflix….

The list is almost endless.

“Delete the app and get on with your life.” They say.

But it’s not always as simple as that. Each platform provides a level of enjoyment and some I even use for work.

So although I can’t “just delete them” and move on, I’ve had to learn to use them more carefully.

I only watch Netflix once a week, I have a limit on how much YouTube content I consume, and I spend 10 minutes a day on social media to post content. Then I close the apps until the next…
