The 50/30/10/10 Rule That Makes Dreams Come True
It Even Turned Me Into A Full-Time Writer
When I left school in 2006, I had a handful of mediocre grades to my name.
I was 16 years old and the least likely candidate to become a full-time writer.
My English teacher would have scoffed at the idea of it I’m sure.
Yet 15 years later, I’m doing just that.
My story of following my dream consists of having a 50/30/10/10 split.
50% determination.
30% preparation.
10% execution.
10% luck.
Let me explain further.
The 50% Determination
Just before I started writing three years ago, I was sleeping on my brother’s floor, 13,000km away from my girlfriend, and needing to change careers as scuba diving was one of the hardest hit industries at the start of the pandemic.
So, out of desperation, I began scrolling the internet to find out how I could reinvent myself.
That’s when I stumbled across blogging and although I never considered myself to be much of a writer, suddenly writing became a genuine possibility.
